Marathon Supports Mining
Town of Marathon Set to Launch Mining Campaign
MARATHON, ON – The Town of Marathon is set to launch a new marketing campaign on September 10th titled “Marathon Supports Mining” which will see a number of lawn signs erected throughout the community.
“The Town of Marathon is on the public record as being a strong supporter and advocate of the proposed Generation Mining Marathon project. This project will secure Marathon’s future economic sustainability and ensure our children and grandchildren can live, work, and thrive in Marathon.”
states Mayor Rick Dumas.
The campaign was conceived to show the Town’s support for the proposed Generation Mining Marathon Palladium-Copper project to be built approximately ten kilometers from downtown Marathon ahead of the Joint Review Panel’s visit to Marathon next week as part of the Environmental Review Process.
“We have and have had an excellent working relationship with Generation since they have taken on this project that has been built on trust and transparency. As one of two local communities that is directly affected by this project through its geographic proximity, the Town will continue to advocate for a timely process as our ultimate responsibility is to support projects and endeavors that are in the best interest of our Marathon residents.”
added Mayor Dumas.
