Vehicle Stop Leads to Drug Charge
NIPIGON, ON On November 22, 2020 at 8:37pm officers from the Nipigon detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Highway 11-17 in Lyon Township (west of Nipigon) for a Highway Traffic Act offence.
Further investigation lead to officers locating and seizing a quantity of Oxycodone pills. The driver was also found to have an outstanding arrest warrant.

- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The accused was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody on November 23, 2020.
