MANITOUWADGE, ON – At noon today, the Manitouwadge Museum bell led a chorus of bells, horns and cheers throughout the community all meant to acknowledge and celebrate ongoing efforts of essential workers who continue to keep our town functioning during the COVID-19 pandemic in spite of risks to themselves and there loved ones.

In addition to the bell ringers, Gail Isaac was taking photos for the museum’s records and Museum President John Lavoie were also both in attendance to make the event happen.

From the Museum, in spite of the volume of the bell, the sound of additional bells and car horns could be heard coming from all areas in Manitouwadge. When the girls finished ringing the museum bell they were surprised to hear from the direction of Minaki, some residents’ home stereo ringing a version of “Amazing Grace” which played with bells, presumably via there home stereo.

Happy Easter everyone and, of course, thanks again to all the Essential Workers in our community who are working diligently to ensure life keeps moving.
