Manitouwadge Hospital CEO Message Lacking New Information (Video)
After 2 weeks of OntarioNewsNorth.com being refused requests for an interview with Santé Manitouwadge Health CEO Debby, or another hospital representative, it was disappointing to watch the scripted video below (which included no opportunity for questions from media) which provided no information of any kind that people don’t already easily have access to online (for example reading day-old statistics from the www.tbdhu.com website).
It would be to the hospital’s advantage to provide Manitouwadge residents with specific information about measures being taken including what specific procedures are in place, details regarding what is being done to protect staff and patients, and to explain what people can expect/which procedures they should follow in regards to doctor’s appointments, attending the emergency, etc.

What precautions are being planned to ensure locums are free from COVID-19 symptoms when entering our community and hospital which to date are free from confirmed COVID-19 cases?

What is the nearest town in the district that has confirmed cases, is Nipigon still the closest town in which cases have been confirmed on the West
What is the nearest community with a confirmed case to the East?
Has the COVID-19 situation meant an increase at the hospital of patients using telehealth to access to specialist? Does this create any unique challenges for hospital staff?
This is obviously a very difficult time for all those in healthcare, including our hospital CEO however transparency/sharing of information can help the public be fully aware of all the incredible work being done at our local hospital and also make it easier for the public to comply with/support that work.
