Manitouwadge Frosty Days Opening Ceremony
MANITOUWADGE, ON – Friday, February 14, 2020, the Frosty Days opening ceremony (full video above) was held outside the chalet at the Kiwissa Ski Centre. Though the campfire of past years wasn’t part of the festivities a good-sized crowd nonetheless joined Community Programmer Reene Warren and Acting Mayor Dave Arola to officially kick-off the weekend’s events.
After the two aforementioned township representatives shared opening statements prizes for the Snow-Sculpture contest and awards for the 2019 Citizens of the Year were shared before the opening was wrapped up with Kiwissa Ski Club’s annual Torch Run.
The video of the Torch Run, unfortunately, does not do it justice and we would encourage anyone who is curious about this tradition to be in attendance at next year’s Frosty Days opening ceremony as it really is a fun and impressive display when seen in person.
OntarioNewsNorth.com would like to re-iterate the thank yous offered, by the Community Programmer and Acting Mayor, to all the volunteers, organizations and businesses who came together to ensure Frosty Days long weekend had a myriad of great, events to attend indoors and out for residents and visitors of all ages.
