Manitouwadge Citizens of the Year (Video)

MANITOUWADGE, ON – Friday, February 14, Township of Manitouwadge Community Programmer Reene Warren hosted the Opening Ceremony of Frosty Days 2020 at the Kiwissa Ski Centre outside the chalet.

Included in the ceremony was the annual recognition of Citizen of the Year, chosen from among nomination letters submitted by residents. Warren noted that the 2019 Citizen of the Year award was unique in that 2 residents, who worked together on a number of volunteer projects, had been nominated together by a number of residents. Among the pair’s impressive volunteerism were their efforts and collaboration to see the Skate Park finally become a reality in 2019.

Once Warren had mentioned the Skate Park, those assembled quickly understood who was being recognized as Citizens of the Year however she also listed numerous other contributions made by the pair to their community many of the volunteer hours they generously gave ensuring other recreational facilities, like Kiwissa Ski Centre, continued to be available for residents of all ages to enjoy (watch video below to hear Warren’s full introduction of the 2019 Citizens of the Year).

With Warren, Acting Mayor Dave Arola presented the 2019 Citizens of the Year with plaques honouring their efforts and the appreciation of the community of Manitouwadge as those assembled applauded enthusiastically. Congratulations to Brad Law and Coady Keough Manitouwadge’s 2019 Citizens of the Year!
