Governor General’s Conversation with St. Brigid Catholic School
NAKINA, ON – The St. Brigid Catholic School Bison, along with students and staff for our coterminous sister-schools Nakina Public School and École Notre Dame des Écoles, had the incredible opportunity this morning to have a conversation with Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette CC CMM COM CQ CD DStJ, Governor General of Canada.
Students asked Ms. Payette several questions about her role as the Governor General, were treated with an image of Nakina taken from space and joined Her Excellency in counting to ten in six languages (seven including Ojibwe, which was a new experience for her!).
Her Excellency’s repeated message was clear: even living in a small community (not in the middle of nowhere, but rather in the centre of Canada), each students’ dreams and aspirations are possible when they get an education and work hard.
