INCREASED OPP PRESENCE IN THE GREENSTONE AREA
GREENSTONE, ON – Members from the North West Emergency Response Team of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) will be conduction Motorized Snowmobile Vehicle (MSV) training in the Greenstone Area during the week of January 27, 2020, to January 31, 2020.
There will be an increased volume of Motorize Snowmobile Vehicle traffic on the local Ontario Federation of Snowmobile (O.F.S.C.) trails, lakes, and various other local trails used by MSV’s.
The O.P.P. is asking everyone to use extra caution when traveling on your MSV as there will be more traffic than we are used to seeing on our local trail network.
The Greenstone OPP will also be out during the winter to conduct MSV patrols on our local OFSC trails and lakes. We would like to remind everyone that you need a valid driver’s licence to operate an MSV off your property. Your MSV also requires an up to date Licence plate sticker, Ownership, Insurance, and a valid Trail Permit if you are on the local OFSC trail.
We are one of the few areas in Ontario that is blessed with snow and are able to ride our MSVs. We would like to remind snowmobilers to ride safely for an enjoyable winter season. Snowmobiling is one of the joys of a Canadian winter.
