Over the years, a number of actors have played the web-slinging hero Spider-Man. As with any famous superhero, not everyone proves to provide a crowd pleasing performance- often times drawing criticism for their casting. When it was announced in 2017 that young British actor Tom Holland would be assuming the role, there were a few eyebrows raised. But now, with 2 movies under his belt, including this week’s headline new release (Spider-Man Far From Home), some pundits are actually proclaiming him as the best Spider-Man yet. The newest Spidey leads the way in a busy week, with a total of seven new titles. Below is a brief synopsis of each;
Spider-Man Far From Home: starring Tom Holland, Jake Gyllenhaal and Samuel L Jackson- While on vacation in Europe, Peter begrudgingly agrees to assist Nick Fury in an attempt to uncover the mystery behind several creature attacks wreaking havoc around the world. Jarhead Law of Return: starring Devon Sawa- After miraculously surviving a plane crash, a pilot is taken hostage by Hezbollah militiamen. Anna and the Apocalypse: staring Ella Hunt- A young lady and her friends band together to defend their small town from an unexpected Christmastime zombie invasion. (Horror/Comedy) (DVD)
Doom Annihilation: starring Nina Bergman- A group of Marines respond to a distress call from a top secret base on the moon- only to discover that it was been overrun by dangerous supernatural forces. (Horror/Action) (DVD and Blu-Ray)
Driven: starring Jason Sudeikis- An FBI informant lures troubled automobile magnate John DeLorean to an undercover sting for cocaine trafficking. (Drama/Crime) (DVD)
Wild Rose: starring Jessie Buckley- A troubled young lady, fresh out of jail, strives to get her life back together as she reaches for her goal of becoming a famous country musician. (Drama/Comedy) (DVD) ww
