NORTHERN ONTARIO – There weren’t any big surprises in the ridings of OntarioNewsNorth.com readers last night as incumbents Patty Hadju and Carol Hughes were each re-elected in their respective ridings of Thunder Bay-Superior North and Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing.

In Thunder Bay-Superior North which has a population of 82,651, Elections Canada reports that 63.98% of those eligible voted [42,178 of 65,928 registered electors — does not include electors who registered on election day].
In Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing, which has a population of 79,483, Elections Canada reports that 61.46% of those eligible voted [40,209 of 65,420 registered electors — does not include electors who registered on election day].
