Candle-making Fun During Public Library Week
MANITOUWADGE, ON – Among the events held in celebration of Public Library Week 2019, October 23rd, was Adult Craft Night at the Manitouwadge Public Library.
Library staffer, Katie Law, provided the 14 adults who attended free of charge, with wax, wicks, scented oils, and all the tools and instruction needed to make wonderful scented candles. Participants were asked to bring a glass jar, similar to a mason jar, to make their candle in however the library also had some on hand in-case any attendees were in need.
Thanks to Katie’s expertise, and the support of Library CEO Beth Biersworth, the crafters created a plethora of beautiful, scented candles of different colours, scents, sizes and in a variety of receptacles (see a few examples of these in the photos above).
Public Library Week events in Manitouwadge wrapped up Saturday with a Halloween party in partnership with the Township however there’s plenty of fun that continues regularly at the library including:
- Rubik’s Cube Club
- Family Games Night
- Book Club & NEW! Junior Book Club
- Library Tea
- Ancestry
- Lego Club
And much more every week! Contact, or stop-in to, the library for more information on any of their programming.
