MFHT 2019 Wellness Fair
MANITOUWADGE, ON – The Manitouwadge Family Health Team, in partnership with the Township and it’s public library, and with support from the CNIB Eye Van, held its annual Wellness Fair this past Friday, September 13 at the Recreation Centre Auditorium from 5-8pm. The fair included booths from other local health/wellness programs, non-profit agencies, volunteers, as well as health, fitness and wellness-themed small businesses offering information and/or demonstrations about their services and/or products. Among these were (for more information regarding booths at the fair please contact the MFHT):
- the Manitouwadge Fitness Centre; Cyndi Jackson provided visitors with a tour of the Fitness Centre, located in the lower level of the recreation centre. Cyndi, who also offers fitness training programs, was excited to introduce people to the ever-expanding gym which has had many modernizations and a plethora of new equipment added in recent years.
- Volunteer Debbie Arola shared details of the free Tai Chi program she leads twice a week in the basement of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Aurola invited those interested to join her once or twice a week (as best suits individuals), to the current sessions Tuesdays at 3:30pm and Thursdays at 2:30pm from October 3 through November 28.
- Instructor Seana McKeon with details of yoga classes she provides for all levels from beginners to advanced yoga enthusiasts.
- Essentially Yours; Melissa Issaacs provided demonstrations and information about Reiki, AromaTouch Technique and Essential Oils massages.
- PACE (People Advocating for Change through Empowerment); a non-profit located at Sante Manitouwadge Health, provided information about their services and programs.
These are just a few of the individuals/groups who had booths at the fair, in addition to the more than 40 attendees who visited throughout the event.
Following the event, the Manitouwadge Family Health Team shared this message on their Facebook page: “The Wellness Fair last night was a huge success!! A BIG thank you to all who came out and participated and browsed all the booths. 👏👏 A round of applause for all to all those who ran a booth and those who donated”.
