Could Kiwissa Ski Hill Be Closing Permanently
MANITOUWADGE, ON – Concern regarding Kiwissa Ski Hill has included a degree of confusion as options, in regards to the hill’s operation for the 2019-20 season (and beyond) presented to Council by township administration, are included in a report on the agenda for Council’s regular meeting September 25, 2019. The report (ADM2019-13), to be presented to Council for consideration during Open Session at this Wednesday’s Council meeting (7pm at the Council Chambers of the Municipal Office), is submitted by Shelley Fergusson, Director of Community Services and Margaret Hartling, CAO/ClerkTreasurer September 19, 2019 and can be found on pages 43 – 59 of the agenda. Interested parties should review the report in its entirety prior to attending tomorrow’s council meeting as the discussion between Council and Administration will likely stem from the information within report ADM2019-13. The report, as mentioned, also identifies the Council’s current options in regards to the hill as:
Council is unlikely to make any major decision regarding the Kiwissa Ski Hill at tomorrow’s meeting nonetheless, those interested should attend to ensure they are well informed regarding any additional information administration provides in response to questions from Council and to provide Council with an indication regarding the level of interests which exists among residents in regards to the hill.
