Canada Day Fireworks @Manitouwadge
MANITOUWADGE, ON – Monday night at 10:50pm, residents gathered downtown at Prospector Park (enduring the mosquitos and blackflies which were out in large quantities) to watch a spectacular fireworks show by the Manitouwadge Volunteer Firefighters in celebration of Canada Day 2019.
The show went on for 30 minutes and really was impressive (though I suppose I’m not entirely objective, I went out eager to enjoy whatever they did). Community Programmer Reene Warren had explained earlier in the day that the fireworks being launched from Lion’s Beach was the reason for having the Canada Day BBQ and celebrations at the Rec Centre ball field – I wasn’t certain how I felt about the switch but I’ve come around and feel it worked out for the best (parking is also much easier for all the attendees at the Rec Centre than at Lion’s Beach and the ball field, in my opinion, is a more accessibility-friendly location also).

This first gallery of photos was taken from the parking lot of the Service Ontario building on Manitou (behind the Valu-Mart) before we went down to the dock to get a less-obstructed view. (click photo to enlarge). All photos
