This Week’s MARVELous New Releases
Brace yourselves, the latest installment in the Marvel Superhero universe is set to take flight. Over the years, we’ve come to know Spider-Man, Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America and the crew. One character though, perhaps one of the most important in Marvel Universe, had remained a relative mystery until earlier this year. On March 8th, Captain Marvel gained her moment in the spotlight and the fans responded in droves. With over 1.1 billion dollars in box office ticket sales, Captain Marvel proved her worth and importance to Marvel fans. This week, she leads the way as our headline new release. There are four new titles debuting, with a brief synopsis of each below;
Captain Marvel: starring Brie Larson and Samuel L Jackson- A woman becomes one of the universes most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. (Action/Adventure) (DVD and Blu-Ray) Also available at 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge.
Five Feet Apart: starring Haley Lu Richardson and Cole Sprouse- A pair of teenagers, suffering from cystic fibrosis, are forced to avoid any close physical contact after meeting in the hospital and falling in love. (Drama/Romance) (DVD) Also available at 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge.
Captive State: starring John Goodman and Ashton Sanders- Nearly a decade after an occupation by an extra-terrestrial force, a man is forced to decide between a life on either side of the conflict- the collaborators or the dissidents. (Sci-Fi/Thriller) (DVD and Blu-Ray) Also available at 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge.
Mustang: starring Matthias Schoenaerts and Bruce Dern- Based on a TRUE STORY! A violent convict is given the chance to participate in a rehabilitation therapy program involving the training of wild mustangs. (Drama) (DVD)
MDCC Business Awards and Gala
We are beyond delighted to have received 2 Awards at the Marathon District Chamber of Commerce Business Awards and Gala in the categories of Business Excellence and Customer Service! On behalf of all of us here at Crossover, we’d like to thank; The hardworking organizing committee of the event (spearheaded by Dayna Bobrowski-Lowndes and Greg Vallance), the Moose Hall volunteers, Chef Luis Carlos Jose and his team, Emcee Al Cresswell Cfno and everyone else who played a part in the event. A big special thank you goes out to those who nominated us- we are truly grateful for your support! Also, congratulations to the other winners and nominees. This event is a true testament to the talented and savvy entrepreneurs, young professionals, volunteers, and non-profit organizations that call Marathon home. We are really lucky! Lastly, we encourage everyone to continue to shop local in an effort to maintain a prosperous and diverse economy! Thanks again!
