Crossover Insider – What’s New In-Store, New Release Trailers & Stamp Card Winner

In 1969, Neil Armstrong accomplished history becoming the first man to walk on the moon. His now infamous quote, “That’s one small step for man and one giant leap for mankind” marked the momentous occasion. This week’s headline new release, “First Man”, sees Canada’s own Ryan Gosling step into the role of Neil Armstrong as we delve into the NASA mission that lead to the moon landing. There are also a couple of movies this week that focus on issues that are very much relevant to society today, with “Beautiful Boy” tackling drug addiction and “Hate U Give” centering around the police shooting of a young black man.

There are a total of ten new titles this week, with a brief synopsis of each below;

First Man: starring Ryan Gosling and Claire Foy- Based on a TRUE STORY!  A look at the life of astronaut Neil Armstrong, and the legendary space mission that led him to become the first man to walk on the Moon on July 20, 1969. Beautiful Boy: starring Steve Carell and Timothee Chalamet- Inspired by a TRUE STORY! A successful writer finds his ideal relationship with his son in shambles after it’s revealed that the young man is addicted to crystal meth. (Drama) (DVD) Also available to rent @ 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge!

Johnny English Strikes Again: starring Rowan Atkinson- After a cyber-attack reveals the identities of all of the undercover agents in Britain, Johnny English is forced to come out of retirement in an attempt to track down the hacker. Sisters Brothers: starring Joaquin Phoenix, John C. Reilly and Jake Gyllenhaal- A successful gold prospector finds himself on the run from an infamous duo of assassins- the Sisters Brothers. (Adventure/ Comedy) (DVD)

Hate U Give: starring Amandla Stenberg and Regina Hall- A young lady’s life is thrown into chaos when she witnesses the shooting of her young black friend at the hands of a white police officer. (Drama) (DVD) Also available to rent @ 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge!

What They Had: starring Hillary Swank, Michael Shannon and Blythe Danner- After her ailing mother wonders off during a blizzard, a woman returns home where her father is struggling to let go of their life together. (Drama) (DVD)

Hell Fest: starring Bex Taylor-Klaus- A masked serial killer turns a horror-themed amusement park into his own personal playground, terrorizing a group of friends while the other patrons believe that it is all part of the show. (Horror) (DVD and Blu-Ray)

Wife: starring Glenn Close and Jonathan Pryce- A woman questions her life choices as she travels to Stockholm where her husband is set to receive a Nobel Prize. (Drama) (DVD)

Here and Now: starring Sarah Jessica Parker- After receiving a grim medical diagnosis, a woman spends the day attempting to make amends with friends and family. (Drama) (DVD)

Benchwarmers 2: starring Chris Klein- After a failed stint in the Major Leagues, a man helps his law firm baseball team in their effort to capture the softball championship. (Comedy) (DVD)
