Township of Manitouwadge Information Re: NBW Partnership Funding
MANITOUWADGE, ON – The Township of Manitouwadge and Northern Broadband Wireless have entered into an agreement for the provision of Municipal Capital Facilities relating to a Telecommunications System with Northern Broadband Wireless Ltd. This venture will see high speed internet service provided to the residents and businesses of Manitouwadge.
The Township of Manitouwadge will be contributing $600,000.00 towards this venture. Partial funding in the amount of $300,000.00 will come from the NWMO Community WellBeing Fund and the balance from reserves. All municipal revenues generated from this project will go back into reserves until the original principal balance is replaced.
The residents of Manitouwadge will see no increase in their property taxes as a result of this agreement. Northern Broadband Wireless Ltd. (NBW) has worked extensively to extend a Fibre Optic Network into the Township of Manitouwadge.
