WAWA, ON – March 27th, 2018 the first 3 on 3 Elementary School Hockey Tournament,was held in Wawa. The tournament was a friendly, non-competitive event promoting hockey in Northern Ontario’s rural communities while also encouraging leadership, teamwork, perseverance, and inclusion.
To encourage cooperation and avoid competition between the schools, the teams were made up of a mix of students from École St-Joseph (Dubreuilville), École Saint-Joseph (Wawa), Sir James Dunn Elementary School and St. Joseph French Immersion School. The goals of the tournament was to bring area students together and foster a positive hockey culture.
This initiative was organized by Mr. Michel Lavergne and Mr. Brandon Vachon-Case who hope to make the tournament an annual event.

Tournoi de hockey élémentaire à Wawa
Afin de promouvoir le hockey dans les régions éloignées du Nord de l’Ontario et d’encourager le leadership, l’entraide, l’esprit d’équipe, la persévérance et l’inclusion, le premier tournoi amical de hockey élémentaire trois sur trois a eu lieu le 27 mars à Wawa. Afin d’éviter l’élément de compétition entre les écoles, les équipes étaient composées d’élèves provenant des écoles Sir James Dunn, St-Joseph (Dubreuilville), Saint-Joseph (Wawa) et St. Joseph French Immersion. Les objectifs étaient de réunir les élèves et de promouvoir la culture du hockey. Cette initiative fut coordonnée par M. Michel Lavergne et M. Brandon Vachon-Case qui espère faire de ce tournoi un événement annuel.
