Former Manitouwadge Physician Signs Cease To Practice Document
In an article published January 3, 2018, CBC Reporter Jeff Waters describes how a former physician in Manitouwadge committed an act of professional misconduct, according to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, leading to the signing of a Cease to Practice document in March 2017.In the article, Waters’ shares details of a pair of complaints filed against former Manitouwadge physician Dr. Peter Cote. One of the complaints is of the physician’s repeated failure, over one weekend, to attend the emergency room at MGH when a patient was complaining of headaches and the troubling accusations related to the alleged incident which include the patient eventually being airlifted from Manitouwadge, diagnosed with raised intracranial pressure, and requiring referral to neurosurgery.
