Chapleau Male Charged with Several Offences
WAWA, ON – On Saturday January 20, 2018 at approximately 1:20 pm members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East (Chapleau) Detachment responded to a local Chapleau address regarding a report of an unwanted person. At the scene investigation revealed that an altercation had taken place between a male and 2 females.
As a result a 54 year old Chapleau, Ontario male was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Adult Unlawfully in Dwelling House contrary to section 349(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Adult Sexual Assault contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code of Canada,
- Adult Uttering Threats- Cause death or Bodily Harm contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada,
- Adult Assault contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada,
- Adult Resist Peace Officer contrary to section 129(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada,
- Adult Indecent Act contrary to section 173(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada,
- Adult Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was held into custody pending a bail hearing.
