NIPIGON, ON – Members of the Nipigon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are requesting assistance to help identify a suspect involved in an attempted abduction.
On Friday, September 1, 2017 at approximately 10:00pm, an unknown male grabbed a 9 year old in the Newton Street area in the town of Nipigon.
The child was safely able to run away from the suspect, and the suspect fled to a nearby bush area. Police were then contacted to investigate.
The suspect is described as wear all black clothing, 5’0 tall, and very skinny.
If anyone saw someone matching this description in the area when this occurred, they are asked to contact the Nipigon OPP at 807-887-2637 or call 1-888-310-1122.
