Goldcorp Donates $10,000 to Save SOS Program
THUNDER BAY, ON – Goldcorp Musselwhite Mine presented Shelter House Executive Director, Gary Mack, with a $10,000 cheque today for the Street Outreach Services program.
Goldcorp Musselwhite Mine opened their new office earlier this week in Thunder Bay and are committed to making a positive difference in Thunder Bay.
Peter Gula, Mine Manager, stated that “It’s part of our responsibility as members of the community to step up to this challenge and continue it. The SOS program is a vital service in Thunder Bay for those who are most vulnerable and marginalized.”
Goldcorps Musselwhite Mine is reissuing the call to action to the community but also asking their employees to match the $10,000 donation. A proud supporter of Aboriginal communities, Goldcorp is pleased to step up to the challenge set by Matawa First Nations and the Thunder Bay Community Foundation earlier this week.
The SOS program serves as a transportation service for the city’s homeless population as well as an outreach vehicle for warm clothing and harm reduction tools to support those living outdoors.
