Wawa Man Charged with Drug Offences
WAWA, ON – On Wednesday November 30, 2016 at approximately 3:10 pm members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Wawa Detachment along with the assistance of members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) from South Porcupine, members of the Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau (POIB) Sault Ste. Marie and members of the North East Region Crime Unit executed a drug warrant at a Wawa residence.
Seized during the execution of the warrant were 287 ecstasy tablets, 20 oxycodone (Percocet) tablets with a total street value of approximately $4,500.00 along with drug tablet manufacturing equipment.
As a result Gerald ANGLEHART (24) of Wawa was arrested and charged with the following offences;
- Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Other Drugs contrary to section 4(1) of the Control Drug and Substance Act,
- Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs contrary to section 5(2) of the C.D.S.A.
The accused was released and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in February of 2017.
