This summer saw a reunion of sorts in which some of DC comics most notorious super-villains were given their own major feature film. Harley Quinn, Deadshot, The Joker and crew were teamed together in the big budget smash hit “Suicide Squad”. Debuting in theatres on August 3rd, Suicide Squad would go on to earn a robust 325 million dollars at the US box office making it one of the summer’s biggest movies. It is also this week’s headline new release in a jam packed week full of big name titles. There are seven new titles in total with a brief synopsis of each below;
Suicide Squad: starring Will Smith and Jared Leto-A secret government agency recruits some of the most dangerous incarcerated super-villains to form a defensive task force with their first mission being to save the world from the impending apocalypse. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children: starring Eva Green and Samuel L Jackson- When a boy discovers clues to a mystery that stretches across time, he finds Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. Ben-Hur: starring Morgan Freeman- A prince falsely accused of treason by his adopted brother returns to his homeland after years at sea to seek revenge and redemption. (Action/Adventure) (DVD and Blu-Ray) Also available to rent at 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge!
Bridget Jones’s Baby: starring Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth- Bridget’s focus on single life and her career is interrupted when she finds herself pregnant and unsure of who is her baby’s father. (Comedy/Romance) (DVD and Blu-Ray) Also available to rent at 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge!
Morgan: starring Kate Mara and Paul Giamatti- A corporate troubleshooter is sent to a remote, top-secret location, where she is to investigate a potentially lethal artificially created human. (Mystery/Horror) (DVD and Blu-Ray)

Equity: starring Anna Gunn and James Purefoy- A Senior investment banker must untangle a web of corruption and lies when she is threatened by a financial scandal. (Drama) (DVD)
