MANITOUWADGE, ON – Manitouwadge Public School (MPS) students have done it again!  September 29th marked the annual Terry Fox Foundation walk for cancer and once again our students and staff came out in full force.

The group gathered outside where Vice-Principal Kuczynski explained why the Terry Fox Foundation was important and how students and staff contributing time and effort to the cause makes a difference.  Thoroughly motivated, they were off to walk in honor of a Canadian hero.

A humongous total (to date) of $1572.00 was raised from pledges and a bake sale.  After walking everyone was treated to a delicious hot dog lunch provided by the MPS Parent Council.  Having met their school monetary goal, Vice-Principal Kuczynski. excitedly volunteered to take a ‘pie in the face’ from two students whose names were drawn from a hat.

It is very encouraging to see young people take such an active role in remembering this important event that has reached worldwide recognition and contributed so much to advancing cancer research.  Congratulations to the students at MPS for another job well done!
