A pair of sequels, each with much anticipation, make their debut on DVD and Blu-Ray this week. Back in 2014, we were introduced to Mac and Kelly, new parents who moved to a quiet neighborhood to peacefully raise their daughter- until Teddy Sanders and his fraternity move in next door. The college boys and the new parents didn’t exactly hit it off leading to an all out battle for territory. Fast forward two years, where the house next door is vacant and Mac and Kelly are once again living their life. That is until their worst nightmare repeats itself as a new group moves in next door with one big difference- a sorority instead of a fraternity! Neighbors 2 is one half of the pair of aforementioned sequels debuting this week with a group of crime fighting turtles occupying the other half. The Ninja Turtles are also back in action as they must deal with a new threat that is putting their entire city at risk. There are a total of six new releases this week with a brief synopsis of each below;
Neighbors 2: starring Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Chloe Grace Moretz – After a hard-partying sorority moves in next door, Mac and Kelly team up with an old enemy to try to force their new neighbors out. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows: starring Will Arnett and Megan Fox – As Shredder joins forces with a slew of new allies in an attempt to take over the world, the Turtles must confront an even greater nemesis: the notorious Krang. (Action/Adventure) (DVD and Blu-Ray) Also available to rent at 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge
Free State of Jones: starring Matthew McConaughey – BASED ON A TRUE STORY- A Confederate army deserter returns to Mississippi and leads a militia of fellow deserters, runaway slaves, and women in an uprising against the corrupt local Confederate government. (Drama/Action/War) (DVD and Blu-Ray) Also available to rent at 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge
Interrogation: starring Adam Copeland – After the FBI receives a threat that endangers the entire city, an interrogator and an I.T. specialist are plunged into a series of mind games with a ruthless criminal. (Action) (DVD)
Man Who Knew Infinity: starring Dev Patel and Jeremy Irons – Based on a TRUE STORY- A self-taught Indian mathematics genius, travels to Trinity College where he forges a bond with an eccentric professor and fights against prejudice to reveal his knowledge to the world. (Drama) (DVD)
All the Way: starring Bryan Cranston and Anthony Mackie – In the aftermath of John F. Kennedy’s assassination, Lyndon Johnson becomes the President of the United States and spends his first year in office fighting to pass the Civil Rights Act. (Drama/History) (DVD)

Independent Video Store Day is fast approaching! Saturday, October 15th is the big day! This annual event is celebrated to acknowledge the presence and importance of independent video stores around the globe. In today’s world of streaming and digital, many people assume that video stores are a “dying breed” or a “thing of the past”. This simply isn’t true and each year indy video store owners from Canada, USA, the UK, Australia and other countries, take a day to celebrate our continued existence and the importance that our stores serve to culture and community. It’s a chance to rediscover the magic of browsing shelves with the family while chatting with friendly staff or fellow customers about the latest and hottest movies.
