Fundraising for New Cardiac Monitoring System Under Way

MCHCCMANITOUWADGE, ON – On Canada Day, the Manitouwadge Hospital Auxiliary drew the ticket for their annual 50/50 fundraiser. And the winner is… Well that is where things took a bit of a twist.  The winner is a mystery because of how the ticket was sold.  Linda was at her favourite ticket post downtown (near the LCBO) when an individual gave her $5.00 for the tickets, but did not want his name entered.  He instructed them to enter whatever name they wanted and simply walked away.  After some discussion, it was decided to just enter the name of Manitouwadge General Hospital and as they say, the rest is history; that was the winning ticket pulled on July 1st and the Auxiliary asked it be earmarked for the new fund raising campaign for a cardiac monitoring system.

CEO Jocelyn Bourgoin was pleased to accept the donation on behalf of the hospital and confirmed this cheque for $1,241.50 is the first direct donation for the new cardiac care system.  A major fundraising event is planned for late September to help fund raise $100,000 needed for the new equipment.

From the Editor: A big thank you to the individual who donated his ticket for a generous gift which benefits the entire community.
