Bond is back! Perhaps one of the better known movie franchises of all time, 007 has been going strong since 1962 when Sean Connery played the now iconic character – James Bond. A total of eight actors have played the role currently being held by Daniel Craig. We were first introduced to Craig as Bond in “Casino Royale” which released back in 2006. He has since appeared in “Quantum of Solace” and the incredibly well done “Skyfall”- the last installment of the franchise which debuted 2012. This week, James Bond is back in “Spectre” which is the headline new release in a week that features a total of nine new movies. Below is a brief synopsis of each;
Spectre: starring Daniel Craig – After receiving a cryptic message, James Bond embarks on a mission to uncover the secrets behind “Spectre”- a criminal organization responsible for a number of attacks around the world. Love the Coopers: starring Diane Keaton, John Goodman and Ed Helms- When four generations of the Cooper family come together for their annual celebration, a series of unexpected visitors and unlikely events turn the night upside down, leading them all to a surprising rediscovery of family bonds. Crimson Peak: starring Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska- Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, a woman is swept away to a mysterious house that holds many terrifying secrets. (Drama/Horror) (DVD and Blu-Ray) Also available to rent at 2 Doors Down in Manitouwadge!

MI-5: starring Kit Harrington- When a terrorist escapes custody during a routine handover, a man is forced to team up with a disgraced MI5 Intelligence Chief to track him down before an imminent terrorist attack hits London. (Action) (DVD)
Freaks of Nature: starring Nicholas Braun- A human, a vampire and a zombie join forces to try to save their hometown after it’s invaded by aliens. (Horror/Comedy) (DVD)
Grandma: starring Lily Tomlin- A teenager facing an unplanned pregnancy seeks help from her quirky grandmother, a woman who is long estranged from her daughter. (Drama/Comedy)
Man Up: starring Lake Bell and Simon Pegg- In a spur of the moment decision, a single woman takes the place of a stranger’s blind date, which leads to her finding the perfect boyfriend. (Comedy/Drama) (DVD)
Monkey Up- A young girl and her brother befriend a talking monkey who is struggling to be taken seriously as an actor. (Family) (DVD)
