It might have been cold outside but the games were hot inside! Photos MPS
MANITOUWADGE, ON – For the past few weeks Manitouwadge Public School students have been honing their skills in chess and are well on their way to becoming the next Welhelm Steinitz or Judit Polger!
It’s pleasing to see today’s young people enjoying this age old game of concentration, skill and dexterity as they take on fellow schoolmates to delight in a well-earned ‘checkmate’. Chess is just one of the many mind evolving techniques that students at MPS enjoy during their out of classroom time – more often recently because the weather man has been forcing indoor recesses on them.
