CBC News Special: Face to Face with the Prime Minister (Video)
Originally streamed live on CBC January 31, 2016
In the vidoe below from CBC News, 10 Canadians each get 10 minutes, alone to ask Prime Minister Justin Trudeau their questions and hear his answers. The questions are varied and those asking seemed to represent a wide variety of Canadians; men and women from different provinces/territories, a wide range of ages and cultural identies were also represented among them, the result – you’re likely to hear questions asked for which the answers are important to you.

THE EDITOR’S OPINION: I felt Peter Mansbridge felt argumentative and, I was left again with the feeling that he isn’t a fan of the Prime Minister and strugles to remain unbias in these situations. He did not seem to be seeking clarity through his follow up questions and, as an experienced senior journalist for the CBC I would’ve expected him to shed light on the reality of the government’s ability to ‘answer’ questions that were in some cases leaning more towards requests for specific solutions which, of course, the PM has no actual ability to provide in a situation like the one created for this event. I felt Canadians, and CBC viewers, would’ve been better served had the CBC done more to prepare those asking questions to ensure they understood the reality of the situation and exactly what type of ‘answers’ the PM actually had the ability to provide.
Thank you to those Canadians who were chosen to participate for their courage in putting their personal stories forward and coming up with some great questions to ask, thanks also to Prime Minister for be willing to hear their questions. I hope that not only the PM or Liberal party but all current MPs will haven taken note of the questions, added them to the list of tasks to work on and that if there are any of the 10 participating Canadians who could be helped to navigate through bureaucracy making their access to existing services difficult, that will be done either by the government, or by the CBC.
