The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is seeking the public’s help in identifying the individuals responsible for illegally shooting a deer on Manitoulin Island.

Conservation officers received a tip on December 4, 2015, about a single gunshot on the Arda property off Pleasant Valley road at 3:30 p.m. A car then picked up an individual at that location at 5:00 p.m.

Conservation officers investigated the area on the evening of December 4 but found nothing. On returning to the location the next morning, they discovered blood on the road and a drag mark coming from the Arda property, leading them to believe that the deer was retrieved overnight.

If you have any information about this incident, please contact the MNRF TIPS line at 1-877-847-7667 toll-free any time, or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can also call the ministry’s Sudbury district office during regular business hours at 705-564-7823.
