Wawa Goose Seniors’ Club : Christmas Bazaar Just Days Away
GOOSE DROPPINGS
Have you written your letter to Santa yet? It is about that time of year, you know. It is a good idea since those young ‘uns find it harder all the time to figure out a something for “someone who has everything”….and is down sizing anyway. Regardless, cold weather and the season is upon us. The fact that November has been so nice to the last bit is marvelous.
The other sign of the times is the list of happenings with the word “Christmas” in the title: bake sale, tea, bazaar seem to be favorites. They do mean an enjoyable outing and an opportunity to contribute to some good cause which helps to keep our community going. They also mean that many people are doing good things for the betterment of our world. That “doing good” also is a major element of the period of our calendar devoted to love and good wishes.
And there are many ways to get involved in the doings: donations of some of those items we find ourselves no longer needing or using or wanting to take care of; giving of time to run the various “tables” at the different events; baking or knitting or doing the publicity; shopping by selecting some new item to use or share by of gifting at Christmas or playing the penny sale or the silent auction or draw. If you are looking to get involved, just ask. The Wawa Goose Seniors’ Club is one of the places which could use your donations and help. Come to the Drop In or call (705) 856-7394 in the afternoon of any weekday.
We are having our own Wawa Goose Seniors’ Club Christmas Bazaar; Friday, November 27, from 12 (Noon) to 3pm. We will be getting the last of the events in place between Wednesday and then.
There will be a bake sale; a penny sale; a silent auction; a basket draw; a crafts sale; and a white elephant sale.
Please bring any donations before Friday, except for baking.
Have a Merry Christmas!
