Tuesday October, 13th 2015 thirteen students from Terrace Bay’s St. Martin School and Ecole Franco Terrace travelled to St. Hilary School in Red Rock to compete in the annual Cross Country Run. These students trained diligently daily with Mrs. Desjardins and their intense preparation and dedication to the sport awarded them super results. The following are our student standings:
There were 63 runners in the Junior Girls Division and our very own Brooke Olive took FIRST Place, quickly followed in by:
- Kiersten Riley in 5th,
- Lea Olive in 9th,
- Jorja Fournier in 11th,
- Emercyn Macleod in 15th,
- Madison Winters in 33rd
- Olivia Berthelow in 37th.
Of the 62 runners in the Junior Boys division, the St. Martin boys placed impressively including:
- 8th Logan McBride,
- 13th Dakota Olive,
- 38th Kade Mitchics,
- 48th Timmy Ford
- 58th Kieran Carpenter.
Liam Scott was our only Senior Boys Division runner and he placed 7th out of the 16th boys.
For the first year ever we had enough runners to form a Junior Girls team and a Junior Boys team and of all the schools in attendance our combined scores allowed each team to place 3rd overall!
The Gven Boudreault award is given to the student of each school that demonstrates an enthusiasm and dedication for running and this year St. Martin School recognized Logan McBride. He earned this award due to daily participation as well as his ability to encourage and motivate his teammates. Logan’s attitude allowed every student to feel like an accomplished runner and he absolutely deserved this recognition. Thank you Logan!
