R.I.D.E. Check Results In Impaired Charge For Chapleau Driver
CHAPLEAU, ON – Saturday July 4, 2015, officers from the Superior East Chapleau Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. checks at the intersection of Highway 101 and Highway 129 in the Chapleau Township.
At approximately 4:50 p.m., a white pickup truck approached the check point. Investigation revealed the male driver had been drinking.
As a result Calvin John GROULX (25) of Chapleau Ontario was charged with the following offence;
- Driving with more than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) CCC
A 90-day driver’s licence suspension was issued and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
The accused was released from custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Chapleau on September 16, 2015.
