Nova Scotia Man Charged With Impaired Driving
WHITE RIVER, ON – On Saturday June 27, 2015, at approximately 11:07 p.m. officers from the Superior East White River Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had occasion to stop a pick up truck at a R.I.D.E. check on Highway 17 in the Township of White River.
Investigation revealed that the male driver’s ability to drive was impaired by alcohol.
As a result Blaine HARNISH (34) of Simms Settlement Nova Scotia was charged with the following offences;
- Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol – motor vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a) CCC
- Driving with more than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood – contrary to section 253 (1)(b) CCC.
A 90-day driver’s licence suspension was issued and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
The accused was released from custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Wawa on July 13, 2015.
