Marathon OPP : 3 Youths Charged with Theft of Under $5000
MARATHON, ON –On June 14, 2015, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Marathon detachment received information regarding several thefts from parked motor vehicles during the night of June 13th.
Several Marathon residences in the Penn Lake area on Pinewood, Chisholm and Godfrey reported that during the night their vehicles that had been parked in their driveways had been entered and items removed. Many of the items were recovered and discarded in the area with cash removed.
As a result of the investigation 3 male Marathon youths have been charged with a total of 8 counts of Theft Under $5000.00 From a Motor Vehicle. They have been arrested and released from custody to return at a later court date in relation to the charges.
“Lock it or Lose it” is an OPP Crime Prevention Section program that encorages residence to always lock your vehicle as well as remove keys, close windows and have all valuables out of sight.
