WAWA, ON – The Conseil Scolaire Catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO) took great pride in participating in the organization of the June 11th Pow Wow held at the Wawa Community Centre. Wawa’s École Saint-Joseph played a key role in the event as 12 secondary school students joined the organizing commitee with members of Michipicoten First Nation.
In addition to welcoming community members, Michipicoten First Nation organizers invited students from École St-Joseph (Dubreuilville), École Sacré-Cœur (Chapleau), École Saint-Joseph (Wawa) and École secondaire catholique Trillium (Chapleau).
Participating students were able enjoy, and gain a deeper appreciation of, Aboriginal and Métis traditional dances and music.
