BC Man Charged with Impaired Driving by Drugs
WAWA, ON – Monday June 15, 2015, at approximately 12:10 a.m. officers from the Superior East Wawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had occasion to stop a grey pick up truck for speeding on Highway 17 near the junction of Highway 101 in the McMurray Township.
Investigation revealed that the male driver’s ability to drive was impaired by drugs.
As a result Tarin RICHARDSON (19) of Maple Ridge British Columbia was charged with the following offences;
- Driving While Ability Impaired by drugs – motor vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a) CCC
- Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana under 30 grams contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA.
A 90-day driver’s licence suspension was issued and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
The accused was released from custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Wawa on August 10, 2015.
