ORILLIA, ON – Prescription medications can be misused in ways not intended by the physician who prescribes them. In an effort to help keep drugs out of the wrong hands, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) will be supporting the Prescription Drug Drop Off Day by participating in the collection of unused or expired prescription medications.

Police and health agencies in communities across the province will work together on Saturday May 9^th to encourage residents to dispose of unused and expired prescription medication in a secure and environmentally-friendly manner. 

The OPP will be making several sites available for residents to simply drop off unwanted prescription medications for disposal on Saturday May 9^th between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.  

• Greenstone OPP – Rexall Pharmacy 305 Main Street Geraldton
• Wawa OPP – 34 Pinewood Dr, Wawa

We see results when police work together with communities, health agencies and the citizens of this province, working together mobilizing for community safety and well-being. Police would like to remind the public that all pharmacies in Ontario will accept your unused prescriptions anytime.
