Reinforcing Math Concepts With A Springtime Snowman

MANITOUWADGE, ON – Students at Manitouwadge Public School are provided a wide array of activities from learning through play to more traditional lessons to build their skills and knowledge.
In February little ones at MPS celebrated ‘100 days of School’ by honing their numeracy skills – counting everything from cups to floor tiles and even ‘flutterbys’! As can be seen in the photo below, even arranging things in groups of 10 became a game. Pictured above: thanks to our ‘Spring’ snow we saw a new face on the school yard when the students practiced the art of spheres by constructing Mr. Snowman. MPS students and staff are hoping that this gentleman doesn’t stick around too long though! Mastering mathematics through play is just one of the many well planned lessons at MPS!
