Andrew Foulds Seeks NDP Nomination for Thunder Bay-Superior North
Submitted by Andrew Foulds
THUNDER BAY, ON – Thunder Bay City Councillor Andrew Foulds announced today that he will seek the Thunder Bay Superior North NDP nomination for the coming Federal election.
In making the announcement, Foulds said, “It is an exciting time for New Democrats. As leader of the Official Opposition, NDP leader Tom Mulcair is standing up and fighting for Canadian values and beliefs.”
“His values and beliefs have inspired me to try to join the NDP team in Ottawa . They have given me the hope and optimism that Jack Layton inspired in us all. We need a vision for Canada that we can all aspire to. That is why I am seeking the federal NDP nomination now. It is time for change. It is time for a better vision for Thunder Bay Superior North and a better vision for Canada. I believe we can build both the Thunder Bay Superior North and the Canada we all want and deserve.”
“Good jobs, fairness for Indigenous people, a clean environment, universal health care, and affordable childcare are the foundations of an NDP vision for the future.”
“The federal Conservative government has proven time and time again that it cares little for Northwestern Ontario, its future, or its taxpayers. At this time, we need a strong voice to fight for Northwestern Ontario – a fighter who will work hard to deliver both a vision for the North and concrete results. I want to be that fighter who will work hard for the North.”
“I want my voice, my leadership, and my experience to be a part of an NDP government that leads this country in the 21st century. Tom Mulcair and the federal NDP caucus have shown us the kind of leadership Canada needs to protect our fundamental freedoms and our privacy in their fight against Bill C 51. That’s the kind of principled leadership we can all admire. I certainly do. If that legislation is not stopped it must be repealed under an NDP government. Both Liberals and Conservatives are all too willing to support Bill C51. They are dead wrong.”
“I want to stand up with Tom Mulcair and the NDP for Canada and against Stephen Harper and the Conservatives who are destroying the Canada we have known and love.”
Andrew Foulds is married with three children. He has taught for 17 years. He has been a Thunder Bay City Councillor for 9 years.
