Impaired Driver Arrested And Charged
WAWA, ON – On the evening of February 21, 2015, officers from the Superior East Wawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint in the town of Wawa.
At approximately 6:21 p.m., while patrolling on Ganley Street, officers observed a Jeep stuck in a snowbank. Investigation revealed the female driver had been drinking.
As a result Rachel BONNIEUL (51) of Wawa Ontario was charged with the following offences;
- Driving While Ability Impaired-Motor Vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a) CCC
- Refuse to Provide Sample contrary to section 254(3) CCC.
A 90-day driver’s licence suspension was issued and her vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
The accused was released from custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Wawa on April 13, 2015.
