SCHREIBER, ON – January 27th, Holy Angels School celebrated Family Literacy Day, as a school. We spent the afternoon beginning with a read aloud by one of our favourite readers, Mrs. Chisholm. She read “The Book with No Pictures”. After reading together, all students and staff recommended books that we used to cover our tree (as seen in photo above).
Family Literacy Day’s message is that taking time every day to read or do a learning activity with children is crucial to a child’s development. Even just 15 minutes a day can improve a child’s literacy skills dramatically, and can help a parent improve their skills as well.
