Successful Stuff-A-Cruiser Events In Greenstone Area

opp-fooddriveGERALDTON, ON – Saturday November 29, 2014 members from the Greenstone Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment in conjunction with the Superior North Emergency Medical Service (EMS) hosted their annual “Stuff-a-Cruiser” event in the Geraldton and Longlac communities. The 6th annual event was another success with officers filling a police vehicle with non-perishable food donations and toys as well as collecting almost $800 in cash for the Harvest Cupboard Food Bank in Geraldton.

The Harvest Cupboard services the whole Municipality of Greenstone including the outlying areas of Beardmore, Caramat, and Nakina. The Food Bank has seen an influx of need over the past few years, especially around the holiday season. The Greenstone OPP and Superior North EMS would like to thank everyone who donated and assisted with the event including the Geraldton Fire Department. The Greenstone OPP would also like to send a special thank you to our major sponsors at Pat’s No-Frills, Valu-Mart, The Northern Store, Danneff’s Supermarket, and the Times Star Publishing.
