Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision East Of Longlac
GREENSTONE, ON – Members of the Greenstone Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 11 approximately 78.5 kilometres east of Longlac at approximately 7:20pm on December 6, 2014. Investigation determined that the collision involved an east bound passenger vehicle that crossed the centre line and struck a west bound tractor trailer unit but then was subsequently struck head on by a second west bound tractor trailer unit. The collision resulted in the closure of Highway 11 until approximately 6:00am at which point it was opened to one lane.
The collision resulted in the death of the male driver of the passenger vehicle, 40-year-old Shane SEMPLE from Orleans, Ontario.
Members of the Greenstone OPP detachment, the Longlac Volunteer Fire Department and a Technical Traffic Collision Investigator attended the scene and assisted with the investigation.
