Dubreuilville’s Concerns To MNRF Re:Forest Management Plan – UNANSWERED?
DUBREUILVILLE, ON – The Township of Dubreuilville has chosen to share letters it, and the Local Citizens Committee (LCC), sent to the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry Bill Mauro. The township seems quite frustrated as the 2nd sentence in the most recent letter of December 19 (see below) tells Minister Mauro that “[…] We feel it unfortunate and disappointing that correspondence and communication with your office are so unidirectional.”
The letter claims town Councillors have had to learn by word of mouth of local LCC Board representatives being approved, alleging no official communications have been received to either confirm or dispute the proposed representatives, going on to request that they be provided with official confirmation in this regard.
Dubreuilville’s newly elected town council members go on in the December 19th letter to request “fair consideration” that any CLUAH and/or MNRF activities in regards to the Wawa Forest Management Plan, forest access, road closures, etc. be halted and postponed to allow time for those new to council to properly inform themselves to best represent their community.
What do you think? Is it reasonable (if the letter is accurate in it’s statements regarding communications being unanswered) for provincial ministries to leave municipalities’ formally submitted concerns unanswered? Share your comments and questions below.
