The organization has introduced life skills and transitional services, supportive barrier-free housing, transportation and recreation opportunities to over 3,000 people in and around the Thunder Bay area. The integration and access to responsive, effective technology is a vital component in continuing to improve standards of living.
“Thunder Bay has the infrastructure in place with the potential to be a global model of inclusion.” said David Shannon, Executive Director of HAGI, “We have the highest aging population in Ontario. Responding to this age-specific demographic means that that the perceived definition of persons with disabilities is much broader. Inclusivity for all persons living with disabilities can be met with a concerted active commitment to eliminating barriers and improving attitudes.”
