CSPGNO Students To Celebrate Franco-Ontarian Day
SUDBURY, ON – Over 2,300 students all across Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l’Ontario (CSPGNO) will celebrate Franco-Ontarian Day on September 25th.
Many activities are planned in CSPGNO’s elementary and secondary schools throughout its territory. A festive march through the community, launching balloons, a “tintamarre” noisefest in Marathon, songs, contests, community rallies, school luncheons, as well as the raising of the Franco-Ontarian flag in many communities, such as Marathon, Noëlville, Elliot Lake, Manitouwadge and Longlac, are but a few of the events that are part of these celebrations.
Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l’Ontario is pleased to celebrate Franco-Ontarian Day and to foster pride among the students who attend its schools. Every year since 2010, this day recognizes the Franco-Ontarian community’s exceptional contribution to Ontario and its continuing participation in the cultural, historic, social, economic and political life of our province.
Recognized for its keen sense of innovation and openness to the world, CSPGNO offers a French-language public education of the highest quality in eleven elementary schools and eight secondary schools in the communities of Markstay, Noëlville, Greater Sudbury, Elliot Lake, Sault Ste. Marie, Wawa, Dubreuilville, Marathon, Manitouwadge and Longlac. At CSPGNO, every child has the room to grow; there is a place for everyone!
