WAWA, ON – Warm weather conditions are upon us and the Superior East OPP detachments would like to remind motoring public of an increase presence of moose on our highways. The OPP investigated 24 moose related traffic collisions during the month of June, 2014. This means slowing down, giving yourself more time to arrive at your destination and maintaining distance between vehicles. Excess speed reduces the amount of available time it takes to avoid a collision, increases the likelihood of a collision and increases the severity of the collision.
The OPP wants to ensure everyone arrives at their destination safe and sound. Extra caution while driving goes a long way to preventing collisions.
