ARMOUR TOWNSHIP, ON – Wednesday July 16, 2014 at 6:00 am Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was notified of a 55 year old male with a firearm on Berriedale Road in Armour Township. While OPP officers arrived on the scene the male discharged a firearm which resulted in self-inflicted life threatening injuries. The male was immediately sent to the hospital in Huntsville where he was pronounced deceased.
The OPP notified the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) who has invoked its mandate. As a result, the OPP will be unable to release further information.
